Bryn de Bear

The beer is on tap at Tap House, Buxton

On the way back from our day out in Matlock Bath, we decided to stop off in Buxton for some food. I was one hungry bear by this time with all the walking we’d done! We decided on Buxton Brewery’s Tap House as the humans had been here not too long before, so we knew to expect a lovely Sunday lunch and nice beer for the grown ups.

The Tap House is on George Street, Buxton, in the Old Court House. It’s open from 11 am to 12 midnight Sun-Thurs and 11 am – 1 am Fri and Sat. They’ve got 5 continuously changing Buxton cask lines, 8 continuously changing Buxton keg lines, plus guest beers from lots of other brilliant UK craft breweries. As if that’s not hard enough to choose from, they have another 80 or so different bottled beers from all around the World!

We all went for the roast beef and it wasn’t much longer before they sold out. Once it’s gone it’s gone, so don’t arrive too late or you’ll be disappointed. I can definitely say it was one of the tastiest roast dinners this little bear has ever eaten, but the Yorkshire pudding was bigger than me, so Dad had to help me finish it 😋

To wash it down, the humans drank one of Buxton Brewery’s most well-known beers, Axe Edge IPA, which is delicious absolutely packed full of flavour. If you’re can’t make it to the Tap House in person, a selection of the brewery’s beers are available to buy online from their website. It’s definitely one of Mum and Dad’s favourite local breweries, so well worth the visit to sample one of their many core beers or even one of the limited edition or collaborations they regularly brew.
