It was Mum’s birthday today and we went to Liverpool, Dad planned a day full of surprises including a pawsome lunch
We started Mum’s surprise day with a visit to her favourite place, Crosby beach (“Another Place”) and a Mamabear-day breakfast prepared by Dad, washed down by a mini bottle of Prosecco… it was Mum’s birthday after all
We then went to Liverpool for a street art hunt including being lucky enough to check out the brand new Jürgen piece from my favourite artist @akse_p19 who you can check out on Instagram by following the link. This was followed by lunch in a fantastic Japanese restaurant called Sapporo Tappenyaki and then more drinks in BrewDog. We were meant to go to the movies as well but decided to just stay in the bar and enjoy a full day together plus Mum was worried that after big lunch and a bottle of wine, she would just fall asleep in a cinema!
The full day is best summed up with Dad’s birthday poem to Mum.
It is Monday the 10th of December,
How do we make this a day to remember,
First to our special place, Another Place,
On Crosby Beach, the wind blew in our face,
Now to the city close to my heart,
On the search for amazing street art,
To The Baltic Triangle to find Mr Klopp,
Tomorrow they’ll chant his name from The Kop,
Just time for a quick pint at BrewDog,
Another beer photo for Bryn’s travel blog,
Now for a very special treat,
Sushi and Tappenyaki for us to eat,
Now to the cinema to watch a Japanese movie,
Change of plan, back to BrewDog and feeling woozy,
I hope you enjoyed your special day,
There’s just one last thing I have to say,
The words I will speak are oh so true,
Happy birthday, I freaking love you!
