I’m in wonderland at Richmond Tea Rooms, Manchester

Dad had been promising to take Mum here for a while and we finally got round to going for part of Mum’s extended 30th birthday celebrations… Dad got Mum 30 separate gifts and I don’t think I ever saw him think quite so hard! Now it’s fair to say Mum loves anything to do with Alice in Wonderland, so to have Afternoon Tea in Manchester’s Alice themed tearooms was a no-brainer.

Richmond Tea Rooms is situated in the heart of the village in Manchester. We visited mid-week but it was still beary busy and we had to wait a little while for a table. It was worth it though and it wasn’t long before we were having our very own Mad Hatters Tea Party! You get to choose from 5 different Afternoon Tea options including – and this made Dad very happy let me tell you – the Gentleman’s tea which came with a pint of beer and lots of savoury treats like a scrummy scotch egg!

The experience won’t leave you disappointed. The tea, finger sandwiches, scones and cakes are all very tasty and the quirky storybook interior transports you right into Lewis Carroll’s magical fantasy world. This really is a must do if you’re visiting Manchester.
