Birthday beers on Treacle Tap

Happy second bearday to me! 🐻🎂🍻🎉🎁🎈

To celebrate the fact it’s being two year’s since the human’s found me, we went for birthday beers at The Treacle Tap in Macclesfield.

Shhh… I know I am underage, but don’t worry it was just the humans drinking the hard stuff, I had fizzy pop and a cupcake. By the way, did you know one bear year equals two human years, so I can go drinking with Mum and Dad when I am 9 😆

This tiny little bar has lots of different craft beers from the UK and around the World. They have a few beers on draft, but the humans normally go for the bottles, which they have fridges full of, including some great Belgian beers and my humans favourite called Kwak, which is served in an very cool glass and stand. If you are greedy like them and need a little something to soak up the fine liquid refreshments on offer, they also serve very yummy pies. Who ate all the pies? Byrn did!

Here’s an interesting fact… Macclesfield’s traditional nickname is “Treacle Town”, hence the name of this bar. This refers to an historical incident when a horse-drawn wagon overturned and split its load of treacle onto the street, after which the poor scooped the treacle off the road!

Cheers 🍻
