Being creative in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle

Today was a day full of street art and the graffiti of Liverpool and its Baltic Triangle area. The triangle is the area between Liver Street in the north and bounded by St. James Street to the east, Wapping and Sefton Street to the west and Parliament Street to the south. It’s within a 15 minute walk of the city centre and I guess you could say it’s Liverpool’s equivalent to Shoreditch in London and Manchester’s Northern Quarter. Basically it’s a pretty cool place 😎

We made it in time to see the @losthills_ show at Zap Graffiti, which is nestled half way down the cobbled Oldham Place. They host graffiti workshops and kids parties and have an impressive yard around the back with a number of decent pieces. We were sad that we missed the Back to the Future mural there, my Dad’s favourite 80’s movie, but this is the thing with street art and why you have to keep hunting or you’ll miss out. You can still see the show until 13th November and it’s definitely worth it… entrance is free of charge ❤️

We then went on to see one of the most beautiful street art I have ever seen! It took the all-female Nomad Clan street art crew two weeks to complete the mural, which covers the entire side of the Tempest building. At over 21 metres tall, the mural is one of the biggest in the North of England and takes inspiration from the political and local environment. You can read more about the piece and its creators in the Instagram post below. Simply stunning ❤️💛💜💙💚
