As Manchester is my closest city, I just had to do a post about the pawesome street art that adorns its walls. Most of Manchester’s street art can be found in the Northern Quarter, minutes away from Manchester Piccadilly station and often referred to as one of the coolest neighbourhoods in the UK. Like any vibrant street art district the landscape in Manchester’s Northern Quarter can change as fast as the artists buy new sprays. Luckily for me, Mum and Dad come to Manchester a lot for gigs and every visit usually includes a hunt for new street art, so we get to see it constantly changing and keep up to date with the regular artists that contribute to the creativity in the area.
You have to be quick to seek out Manchester’s rapidly evolving street art. You may see a photo of a particularly enticing piece on Instagram one day, only to find it painted over less than a week later. Things change that fast! I decided to make this sticky post to capture all the amazing art we are lucky enough to see, before it gets painted over with something different. If you’re looking for some of the area’s most iconic pieces, there are plenty of guides online, but the best places to see street art are include Stevenson Square, Back Piccadilly, Tariff Street, Port Street, Great Ancoats Street, Spear Street, Tib Street and Faraday Street.
