Field Day 2016 at Victoria Park, London

A little bear in a big city! My first time in London, although we didn’t get much time for sight seeing! We were in the capital for Field Day in Victoria Park to see the likes of The Thurston Moore Band, The Avalanches and the awesome PJ Harvey.

We travelled down from Manchester by Megabus, what a bargain! We arrived at Victoria Coach Station at about midday and then got the tube to the nearest station to Victoria Park, which was Mile End. It was pretty rubbish weather so we decided to have a few beers in the warm before heading over to the gig. We found an awesome pub called The Wentworth Arms, everyone was very friendly and there was a great atmosphere, they even put free sausages on the bar… I think Dad would have stayed there all day if he could have!

Four pints later (my Dad, not me!), we headed down to the gig, the weather had cleared up a little bit, but it was still dull. The ground was really muddy, I’m surprised we stayed on our feet. The bands were great and by the time PJ Harvey came on, it was actually a little bit Sunny and she was well worth the wait.

When the gig finished, we rushed back to the tube and then waited at the coach station for our Megabus back to Manchester at 1am. The return journey was a lot longer, with loads more stops, even Leeds and then Sheffield before we got back to Manchester at 6.30am. There were some characters on that bus I can tell you!
