Caspian at Brudenell Social Club, Leeds

My very first night in Leeds and it was hard not to like the city and this very very cool venue, which is a former working man’s club with 1950’s decor hosting up and coming (and some surprisingly huge) bands.

According to the Guardian newspaper, the “Brudenell has rightly become a legend in the Leeds area and beyond” and you can see why!

We were here to see Caspian, with the amazing Jo Quail supporting. Mum had seen Jo Quail at Dunk! Festival in Belgium and Dad was looking forward to seeing her play as well. All I can say is wow, mind blown! Heathen Harvest Periodical call her “one of the most awe-inspiring and inventive cellists of our generation” and I agree!

Caspian were equally awesome! Mum had also seen them at Dunk! earlier in the year, but it was Dad and my first time and 11 tracks of post rock later and they played out with Sycamore, which has such an awesome ending drum sequence. I’m pretty sure some extra drummers came up on stage and they all hammered away as the guitars slowly burned away. This video was shot by one of Mum’s friends at Dunk!
